UPGRADING LYDENBURG BULK WATER SUPPLY
The project aimed to improve the town’s water infrastructure. It involved several phases, starting with the construction of a 5-kilometer raw water pumping main pipeline, followed by a 2-kilometer clear water pumping main pipeline. Additionally, a 1ML concrete reservoir, a 500kl elevated steel tank, an 800kl steel ground reservoir, and a booster pump station were constructed. Two boreholes were drilled, equipped, and connected to a 3-kilometer supply pipeline. Lastly, the Lydenburg water treatment plant underwent refurbishment. These upgrades have greatly enhanced the reliability and efficiency of the water supply system in Lydenburg, ensuring a sustainable source of clean water for the community.
